Hanging Baskets & Tubs
Ensure tubs and hanging baskets are watered every day and fed with a liquid feed once a week. Dead head bedding plants to ensure continuous flowering.

Vegetables & Fruit
Hoe or hand weed the vegetable plot to reduce the competition for water and nutrients. Water tomato plants daily and feed twice weekly with a liquid tomato feed. Prune side shoots on gooseberry bushes.

Perennials
Stake tall growing perennials like Delphiniums and Hollyhocks to prevent wind damage. Divide overcrowded clumps of bearded Iris to re-invigorate the rhizomes. Collect seeds from Lupins, Delphiniums and other perennials as the seeds ripen.

Rose Trees
Spray rose trees every 14 days with a combined insecticide and fungicide to protect from greenfly and fungal diseases like mildew, rust and blackspot. Remove rose suckers and dead head blooms.

Lawns
Apply selective weedkiller to weeds in the lawn, now that they are in full growth. Also now is the ideal time to apply lawn feed.

Ponds
Remove any blanket weed from ponds. Feed fish on a daily basis and check for any signs of disease. Keep pumps running to ensure adequate oxygen is put into the water. Remove dead foliage and blooms from waterlilies and other aquatic plants.

General
Ensure newly planted trees and shrubs do not dry out. Sow biennials like Wallflowers, Sweet Williams and Cantebury Bells for colour next spring.
