Foliage

With the growing popularity in houseplants, we have expanded our foliage plant collection to suit everyone, from small plants for terrariums or larger specimen plants for that WOW factor! There is also a wide range of sizes in between including a selection of plants supplied in hanging pots.

Foliage plants are great for creating that urban jungle feel, they are also proven to improve the air quality in your home by increasing oxygen levels and reducing toxins in the air as well as being great for people’s mental health and wellbeing, helping to aid relaxation.

Our stock regularly includes some of the following as well as many more:

Unusual / Rare (Only available at our York Branch)

We work very hard to bring our customers a large range of rare and unusual plants, some of our previous rare plants include; Anthurium Crystallinum, Alocasia Zebrina Variegated, Monstera Thai Constellation and Philodendron Melanochrysum to name a few! We are always on the lookout for something special; we have recently added local growers Grow Tropicals to our suppliers and have received our first plant delivery which includes Anthurium Crystallinum Silver Blush and Philodendron Gloriosum. Flowering

Whether you like amazing tropical blooms such as Hibiscus or the more traditional flowers like Kalanchoe, we have something for everyone, no matter the time of the year.

Some flowering houseplants are available all year round and some are seasonal and only available in either the Summer or Winter.

Listed are some examples of the plants we stock:

In November and December each year, we also sell a vast selection of British grown Poinsettias with over 10 different colours to choose from in addition to the traditional red. Poinsettias make lovely Christmas gifts as well as enhancing your home with a fresh decoration.

Cacti / Succulents

If Cacti and Succulents are what you are looking for, we offer a great range of varieties and sizes all year round. Many children start gardening with a Cacti or Succulent, due to their toughness, being able to cope with a lot of difficult growing conditions that many other plants simply cannot.

Our huge range of Cacti and Succulents has an amazing selection of colours, textures and growth habits to suit, ranging in smaller pot sizes right up to large specimen plants, our comprehensive range can include;

• Mammillaria
• Cereus
• Gymnocalycium

Many Cacti are prized for the architectural shapes and forms, as well as some which flower.

Our range of Cacti feeds and composts from Growth Technology will help you to keep your cacti and succulents in tip top condition.

Orchids

We stock Orchids all year round, with fresh stock arriving on a regular basis. Choose from common, easy to look after orchids including Phalaenopsis to more challenging collector’s orchids such as Vandas.

• Miltonia

We also have everything you need to successfully keep your orchid happy, including pots, feeds, repotting mix, clips and also books to help you on your way! All produced by Growth Technology.

Bonsai

We are stockists of Kyoto Bonsai and accessories. We have many different varieties of Bonsai in various sizes and prices all year round. Larger specimens can also be ordered on request (which may require a deposit). In addition, we stock a large selection of rectangular, oval, round, cascade and semi cascade glazed bonsai pots as well as rectangular and oval glazed saucers, plastic rectangular pots and saucers, compost, fertiliser, training wire, tools and books.

Free Bonsai Care leaflets are available and our knowledgeable houseplant staff are always happy to help.

 Carnivorous

We stock the following carnivorous plants:

• Venus Fly Traps
• Sarracenia
• Drosdera (sundew)
• Nephenthes (pitcher pants)
• Pinquicula

All subject to availability.

If you need to repot your carnivorous plants we stock a range of special carnivorous plant composts including a peat-free carnivorous plant growing medium.

Citrus

A selection of citrus plants are available in the Garden Centre all year round, including lemons, limes, calamondin and oranges in various pot sizes and prices. The citrus plants usually have either flower or fruit already on the plant (with the exception of starter plants). We also sell other varieties such as grapefruit, kumquats, kaffir limes and mandarins at various times of the year, when they are available.

We have a good range of citrus composts and feeds from both Growth Technology and Chempak to keep your plants happy and fruiting.

Mini Plants (Tot Plants)

We have an extensive range of mini houseplants in stock at all times, with new additions arriving on a weekly basis. Our range of mini houseplants includes common houseplants like Chlorophytum (Spiderplant) as well as more unusual varieties such as Philodendron Pink Princess.

There is also a range of trailing houseplants such as Scindapsus and Senecio. If you like to watch your houseplant grow, then these are great starter plants to help you do just that and grow on.

Air Plants

Known as Tillandsia, they are versatile, easy and fun! They can be situated almost anywhere warm and light within your home. Airplants need to be kept above 8C and require a light misting with water each week.

We have pre-made arrangements on bases and pots, or we sell the seperate components so you can create your own. Simply choose your base, choose your plants and then use the fixative to attach your plants to the chosen base.

To encourage flowers and to get the best results, don’t forget to use air plant fertiliser!

Pot Covers

A large range of ceramic pot covers in many different sizes, styles and colours are sold in the Garden Centre.

Whether you are looking for something fashionable, classical or traditional, our large range of pot covers offers many different styles, colours and sizes. We source our selection from different companies including Scheurich and Ivyline. We also have a range of ornamental plant stands which can add interest and height to the way you display your plants, spotlighting your favourite flora.

A popular range from Ivyline (available from our York branch only) is “Lisbon”, featuring a minimal design, curved shape and smooth finish, this range complements a range of décor, from modern to traditional.

Scheurich has been around for many years and has been the market leader for indoor and outdoor planters, standing for quality, reliability and modern, sustainably produced products. All Scheurich’s plastic products are 100% recyclable.

Compost, Feed & Accessories

We stock a large range of houseplant compost from Growth Technology available in both 8 Litre and 2 Litre sizes. We have stocked their compost for over 10 years and they are also used by professional growers too.

There are also a range of premium handy bags of specialist composts from Grow Tropicals, produced in Yorkshire, including Alocasia, Hoya and Philodendron mixes as well as their amazingly versatile Jungle Mix. We also sell their individual substrates for you to create your own bespoke mix.

We also stock a full range of substrates including Perlite, Coco Husks and Worm Casting to name just a few, and the best thing is they are all packaged in handy 2.5 litre reusable bags.

In addition, we offer a range of functional houseplant tools, watering cans and atomisers as well as empty glass terrariums in various sizes ready to plant up.
