Golden Anniversary Thanks
< < Back to News & EventsDecember 2018 saw Dean’s Garden Centre celebrate its 50th Anniversary and it was celebrated in a number of ways throughout the last few months of the year, from a golden anniversary display containing a memory book for customers and staff to sign, special anniversary offers, a golden anniversary quiz, a children’s colouring competition and a golden treasure hunt.
A special charity day was also held on 6th December which included a raffle, tombola, second-hand book stall and cake stall, to raise money for our nominated charity of the year 2018, Macmillan Cancer Support, which proved to be a great success by raising £1253.75.
This was then followed on 7th December, the official anniversary date, by a celebration day where staff dressed up in gold themed attire, and customers who visited either the York or Scarborough Garden Centres received a golden envelope which contained a 50-50 chance of winning a prize worth from 50p to £50!
The staff also celebrated in style at a Golden Anniversary Party, consisting of a lovely evening of dinner, drinks & dancing, along with a staff presentation to the Partners, of a beautiful engraved plaque and wooden bench which are now on display within the York Garden Centre for our customers to see.
